Key Features of PPF
- Lock-in Period: 15 years. It can be extended in blocks of 5 years.
- Tax Benefits: Deposits qualify for deduction under section 80C (up to ₹1.5 Lakh). The interest earned and maturity amount are also tax-free (EEE status).
- Investment Limits: Minimum ₹500 and maximum ₹1,50,000 in a financial year.
